Seattle Gems with Local Rachel Waldorf

Friend of Fernish, Rachel Waldorf, is a lifestyle and entertainment content creator sharing all things that Seattle has to offer. She jokes, “We have more than just the Seahawks and Space Needle here — crazy I know.”  Read on to see how this PNW local spends her time in this stunning city.

What is your favorite way to start the day?
I am my best self when I wake up well-rested and hydrated. I start each morning with a large mason jar of warm lemon water and then if time, I try to get in a quick meditation and journal writing.

What do you do to fuel yourself?
My favorite way to fuel is a mid-morning walk around Green Lake or Seward Park with coffee. My go-to drink is an Iced Oat Milk Latte. Yum!
How do you like to wind down and relax?
Taking a long shower and singing...shower singing is my favorite. I follow that with my skincare night-time routine then try to read before bed...although I will admit, sometimes I scroll on TikTok way too far into the night.

Where is your favorite place to play hooky?
You can catch me playing hooky at Green Lake Park or an Art Museum in the city.
Where do you take visitors from out of town?
The Ballard Locks --- it's such a fun underrated attraction.
Who are your favorite local artists and makers?
I have so many, but a few of my favorites are: Allison Rohland (textural abstract artist), By Sol (jewelry shop), Koe.Zee (incredible handmade goods artist), Tattie Town (tattoo artist; it's my dream to get a tattoo by him), and so many more!
